First off, when most people first see these pictures, they can
barely believe that they're even from the Sailor Moon manga. In
fact, I'm often asked if I actually made these images myself.
It's hard to believe, but all these images were drawn by Naoko
Takeuchi and actually do have some relevance to the story line.
The melting Usagi on the first page seems to draw the strongest
reaction. That image along with the image at the bottom of each
of the other pages are from one of the volumes in the Super S
series. With such graphic pictures it's almost hard to believe
that these books are intended for children. And I hate to break
it to you, but the series wasn't meant for children. All Naoko
Takeuchi's material was directed to a mid-teen to adult
audience. But basically, the main reason I put up these pictures
was to educate the Sailor Moon loving population to the reality
of the manga. There was nudity, there was violence, there was
homosexuality. And if this was an R rated movie, it would
probably be widely accepted by Americans. |
